Trintech appoints Scandinavian distributor

Dublin-based payments solution company Trintech has appointed Manison Oy as a distributor for its smart card technology in Finland and Sweden.

Manison will market and support Trintech's full range of smart cards and personal identity number (PIN) software to banks and retailers in the region.

The Helsinki-based company is working with Trintech to enable the migration of EMV Chip and PIN that is expected to take place in Finland and Sweden in 2004.

The company was established in 1999 in Finland and has grown to become a leading supplier within that market.

In 2003 it expanded its operations into Sweden.

Eamon Keating, General Manager of Trintech's retail business said today: "Manison as a new distributor for our PINPad product range will help facilitate the smooth and secure deployment of chip and PIN in Scandinavia,".

Trintech provides transaction management and payment infrastructure solutions to banks, retailers and network operators.
