Irish company claims answer to clean air problem
A new ventilation system designed by Irish company DionX Limited will reach the requirement needed to achieve clean air levels in hospitality industry, research has claimed.
It also addresses the of airborne containments, including Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) by removing 100% stale air and injecting 100% fresh air.
The system will achieve an indoor air quality on a par with outdoor air according to the Joint Research Centre (JRC), an European Union funded research body.
Speaking at the announcement, Mr. Ciaran Taggart, Managing Director DionX said: "According to the latest research from the JRC it is possible to achieve clean air levels with 20 air changes per hour.
"Our new system can readily handle that number of air changes," Taggart added.
Both the Health and Safety Authority and the Department of Health have stated that their goal is to remove ETS from the workplace.
The HAS's Expert Report and the JRC's findings, confirm that fresh air ventilation equipment, operating at 20 air changes per hour, can effectively address the issues associated with ETS.
DionX Limited has spent 2 and a half years and more than 1,000 working hours developing this project.
An Irish-owned company, it is based in Clontarf, Co Dublin.
