Aer Arann to invest in new online system

Aer Arann which now serves 16 destinations across Ireland and the UK is to invest €8m over the next five years in a new reservations, online booking and check-in system.

The new system will allow the company to continue with its growth plan.

As well as ensuring a faster booking and check in process for passengers, the OpenSkies by Navitaire system will enable the airline to offer services such as ticketless travel, each way pricing and online booking for corporate and travel agency customers.

Navitaire, which provides the OpenSkies solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture and was launched from the combination of PRA Solutions, Open Skies and via World Network.

Its company headquarters is in Minneapolis, USA. Openskies is used by 40 airlines.
