Xsil wins Technology Fast 50 Award

Dublin based, Xsil has become this year's winner of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award.

Xsil, a provider of innovative laser micro-machining systems has seen aggregate growth in revenue of 3064% over the past three years.

In second place, was Web Reservations International, the leading global provider of online reservations technology for the Budget, Independent and Youth Travel market who achieved a growth rate of 1436%.

In third place and last year's winner, was eTel Group, Central Europe's leading alternative corporate telecommunications service provider, which had an aggregate revenue growth of 1019%.

Fourth and fifth place went to Altamedius and Infacta respectively.

Announcing the winners of the fourth Technology Fast 50 Programme, David O'Flanagan, Partner with Deloitte, Dublin said: "The Fast 50 programme has always been a reliable indicator of whether innovation is leading to more growth and wealth creation.

"These companies have demonstrated how to survive and thrive in today's market by helping their customers reduce their costs and improve their performance."

O'Flanagan said that despite the difficult global environment, Irish technology companies are continuing to grow with average turnover growth of more than 269% in a three-year period.

The Technology Fast 50 programme recognises and ranks the fastest-growing technology companies in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Of the 50 companies to succeed, 15 are based in Northern Ireland.

The Fast 50 programme originated in San Jose, the centre of California's famous Silicon Valley in 1995.

Since then it has successfully expanded across the US and to other countries throughout the world.
