Germany's seasonally adjusted jobless rate for September was down by 0.1% from August to 10.5%, the Bundesbank has said.

Germany's seasonally adjusted jobless rate for September was down by 0.1% from August to 10.5%, the Bundesbank has said.

Economists generally had forecast it to remain at 10.6% for September.

The Bundesbank said the seasonally adjusted jobless total in September was 4.392 million, down from 4.406 million for August and corresponding to data reported earlier by the Labour Office.

The Labour Office also said the unadjusted number of jobless in Germany fell 107,400 in September from August to a total of 4.206 million.

The percentage rate of unadjusted jobless for September works out at 10.1%, down by 0.3% from August.
