BA eyes up Iberia

British Airways chief executive Rod Eddington said the airline was considering a merger with Spanish carrier Iberia.

Mr Eddington told Spanish newspaper El Pais that as European airlines consolidate in a troubled market – the latest example being the new alliance between Air France and KLM – he would like to see BA and Iberia “in each other’s arms”.
