Gleeson to be next AIB Chairman

AIB has announced that Dermot Gleeson will succeed Lochlann Quinn as Chairman of the Board of AIB with effect on October 14 2003, the date of the next scheduled board meeting.

Mr Quinn will also retire as a Director of the Bank on that date.

Gleeson joined the Board on May 16 2000, and became Deputy Chairman on October 8 2002.

Quinn who retires, joined the Board on May 8 1995 and has served as Chairman since 1997.
