Mace expansion to create 750 jobs

About 750 jobs are to be created with the €50m expansion of a retail chain, it emerged today.

Mace Ireland’s new development strategy will see it open 30 new stores over the next three years.

Many of the new jobs are expected to be at senior level.

Although the company’s 420 existing outlets are mainly local convenience stores, work is under way on a number of supermarkets across Ireland.

The Mace group – which is operated by BWG Foods – was established in Northern Ireland in 1960 and was then launched in the Republic in 1964.
