Ericsson wins major China contract

LM Ericsson AB said it has won a $600m (€530m) GSM expansion framework agreement from Guangdong Mobile Communication Corporation Ltd in China.

LM Ericsson AB said it has won a $600m (€530m) GSM expansion framework agreement from Guangdong Mobile Communication Corporation Ltd in China.

According to the agreement, Ericsson will provide infrastructure equipment including hardware and software for the expansion.

Nanjing Ericsson Panda Communication Company Ltd, Ericsson's largest joint venture in China, will provide the contracted equipment.

The delivery for this expansion started in 2003 and will be completed in 2004, Ericsson has said.
