Version 1 wins Sports Council contract

IT services company, Version 1 software, has secured a contract with The Irish Sports Council as part of an e-Government initiative.

Over 50 companies were in the running for the contract that was decided by public tender which will see the Sports Council streamline its business and communications with its sporting audiences.

The deal involves four significant IT projects including the development of an IS Quality Management system; an Enterprise Data model; a grant and performance management system and a records management system.

According to Tom O'Connor Version 1 Software: "This illustrates our strength in the complete system lifecycle, as the projects involved project management methodology development, developing an Enterprise Data Model, as well as traditional Version 1 strengths in bespoke systems design and development."

Matthew Kennedy of the Irish Sports Council said :"This implementation will help us manage the business more effectively, track the performance and effectiveness of our grants, as well as using the web to make us more accessible to our clients."

Version 1 was founded in 1996.
