BT Group, Britain's largest fixed-line telephone operator is going back into the mobile phone business, two years after it sold off its mobile subsidiary mm02.

BT will resell wireless access on the T-Mobile network.

It is to sell a mobile service to consumers with a new product called BT Mobile Home Plan.

The Home Plan will be aimed at families who want to buy multiple handsets from the same operator.

It will charge rental costing £15 (€21) per month for the first phone and £10 (€14) each for up to five extra handsets for family members.

It will offer the first two minutes free for calls to the family home number.
