ESB International has won a €1m contract in Vietnam to advise on the construction of a major new power station.

ESB International has won a €1m contract in Vietnam to advise on the construction of a major new power station.

The company is to provide consultancy services including technical project design for the Hai Phong coal-fired power plant which is being developed east of Hanoi.

ESBI’s partner in the venture is the Vietnamese national power company, EVN.

This latest contract brings the value of the company’s current business in Vietnam to €5.5m.

Speaking after today's announcement, ESB Chief Executive Padraig McManus said: "ESB International is committed to maintaining and building its partnership with the authorities and the electricity industry in Vietnam.

"This latest contract proves that ESBI's experience and expertise is world class," he added.
