Harney announces new Comp Authority member

Tánaiste Mary Harney has announced that she has appointed Mr Edward P Henneberry as a member of the Competition Authority.

Mr Henneberry, who is an Irish citizen, is a partner in the Howrey Simon Arnold & White Antitrust Practice Group specialising in competition matters in Washington DC.

Prior to joining Howrey, Mr Henneberry served in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice.

He has extensive trial experience as lead counsel in many high profile cases across the US and he also assisted in various cases in Germany, Italy and England.

Mr Henneberry will take up his post on September 15.
