EMI Group, the world's third biggest music company, has said that although a sharp decline in the Japanese market will dent its half-year results, a stronger second half should keep full-year numbers in line with its expectations.

EMI Group, the world's third biggest music company, has said that although a sharp decline in the Japanese market will dent its half-year results, a stronger second half should keep full-year numbers in line with its expectations.

The company said its recorded music sales outside of Japan had been well up in the first three months of its financial year, with strong gains in US recorded music and music publishing businesses.
