London shares in muted trading start

London’s leading shares saw a muted start today as traders paused for breath after a strong showing yesterday.

With relatively little by way of corporate news to generate momentum in either direction, the FTSE 100 Index had drifted 7.2 points below its opening mark to 4067.6 after an hour of trading.
