Figs on corporate misconduct revealed

The Director of Corporate Enforcement has revealed that he dealt with 540 cases of alleged corporate misconduct last year and secured 20 convictions.

In his first annual report, Paul Appelby said he expected his office to investigate a further 1,500 cases this year.

Mr Appelby said the directors of 140 companies in liquidation would also be brought before the authorities in the coming few years to explain their debts.
