Survey highlights widespread use of pirated software

Almost half of all computer software used by Irish businesses last year was pirated, according to a survey conducted by the Business Software Alliance.

The alliance said the rate of piracy in Ireland could threaten the country's reputation abroad and also contribute to lay-offs and lost sales.
