Intel Ireland open inner city computer clubhouse

A new computer clubhouse has been opened in the inner city of Dublin, funded by Intel Ireland the South West Inner City Network.

A new computer clubhouse has been opened in the inner city of Dublin, funded by Intel Ireland the South West Inner City Network.

The clubhouse will offer youth projects access to up to the minute computer facilites, which includes a music studio.

Opening the clubhouse the Taoisaeach said that the aim of the project was to narrow the digital divide betweent eh local community and the high-tech quarter of Dublin's inner south city.

The clubhouse is being run with the help of MediaLab Europe, located nearby.

Intel is investing around $30m (€25m) worldwide in 100 such facilities, over the next five years.
