The Hotels Federation is calling on the Government to take real action to reduce inflation, which is being described as the biggest threat to the tourism industry.

The Federation has welcomed the interim report of the Tourism Policy Review Group, which has said the Government should commit itself to a target inflation rate this year.

Its president, Jim Murphy, admitted this evening that hoteliers themselves will have to do more to tackle the problem.
