mmO2 enjoys data services growth

Mobile phone operator mm02 said that it generated record growth for mobile data services last year.

It said that it carried more than 8.3 billion text messages last year and was on track to generate 25% of its revenue from data services by the end of 2004.

The company is to report full year results on Wednesday, when it is expected to make a write down of around £5bn (€7.01bn) on the value of its UK and German 3G services.
