US giant in the hunt for Chubb

US industrial conglomerate United Technologies Corporation is believed to be the firm behind the bid for security services group Chubb, it emerged today.

Chubb, which is based in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, announced last week that it had received a preliminary approach which might lead to a takeover offer.
