TCH enters UK market with purchase of Irish Post
Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCH) has bought The Irish Post from Jefferson Smurfit for €2.4m in its first move into the UK market.
The Irish Post, founded in 1970, has a circulation of 31,400 and services the Irish community in the UK.
The circulation of the paper has been falling and TCH hopes to improve the paper by using content from the 13 newspapers it already owns. These include the Irish Examiner and the Sunday Business Post, together with a number of local newspapers, such as the Western People and the Newry Democrat.
It is also understood that TCH’s managing director Anthony Dinan would like to increase The Irish Post’s web presence.
