Overture to create more than 200 jobs in Dublin
California company Overture, which operates major commercial search engines, is to set up a European centre in Dublin where around 200 people will be employed.
Global company Overture was founded in 1997 as GoTo.com, the company then became a search engine of consumers search for products and services online.
It also provides advertisers with a medium to drive targeted leads to their web sites. Overture has built up a distribution network and feeds tits search results to affiliate partners which include MSN, Yahoo and InfoSpace.
It is understood that the Tanaiste Mary Harney will make the announcement today of the setting up of the Dublin centre.
This will be the second search engine to set up in Dublin, as Google announced plans for a Dublin centre last month.
