Unisys and IONA announce alliance

Unisys and IONA have entered into an alliance and reseller agreement whereby Unisys will provide systems integration and consulting services in support of IONA’s recently-launched Mobile Orchestrator.

The agreement enables mobile business transactions to occur on an anywhere, anytime basis.

Unisys will provide IONA’s Mobile Orchestrator as an extension of its existing enterprise mobilisation solutions to deliver “occasionally connected” computed capabilities that enable a company’s field force or other mobile workers to process and manage information regardless of network connectivity.

As a result, field force automation is maximised and telecommunications companies have the ability to host applications and expand existing wireline VPN services with Wi-Fi.
