Conduit competing with BT in British directory enquiry market

Irish information service provider Conduit has been making a big push in Britain following the launch of its UK directory enquiry service in mid-March.

When Conduit launched 11 88 88, its alternative to BT 192, it said that BT had been overcharging callers for years. It said that calls to 11 88 88 would cost half that of BT 192, making Conduit the best value service to enter the market since the deregulation of the directory enquiries market last December by Oftel.
