M&S set to launch new Beckham-endorsed range

High street chain Marks & Spencer is due to launch its new range of David Beckham-endorsed clothes for boys, it emerged today.

The first DB07 collection which the England football captain is said to have had a hand in designing was unveiled last September.

Marks & Spencer is hoping to repeat the success with the new spring/summer range, which goes into shops this Saturday.

“Over the years I have learnt many things about fashion and style and take everything on board, and this shows in the clothing,” said Beckham in the latest issue of Hello! magazine, which feature the new clothes.

The range is said to include T-shirts with his initials and his surname in the same lettering he has famously used for tattoos on his body.

Explaining his involvement in the collection, Beckham told Hello!: “I made it clear that I wanted full involvement with everything and that nothing would go into the shops without me approving it.”

Beckham has a string of lucrative endorsement deals which, along with Marks & Spencer, also include mobile phone giant Vodafone, Pepsi, sportswear manufacturer Adidas and designer sunglasses Police.

A Marks & Spencer spokeswoman confirmed the new DB07 range would be launched on Saturday but refused to give any further details until Friday, claiming: “We have an agreement with David Beckham.”
