Food companies will soon have to prove their products are low in fat or good for you as advertised.

Irelands EU Commisioner David Byrne is leading a drive for companies to be held to account for claims they make.

He is planning to set a threshold for fat or sugar levels in products.

The food commisioner says if the product makes a health claim, a similar burden of proof will apply.
