Eidos, the games developer which brought Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft to computer screens, today said it had returned to profit after three years in the red.

Sales of its Hitman 2 and Timesplitters 2 gas topped a million copies each, helping Eidos to turn a £2.2m (€3.21m) loss in the six months to December 31 2001 into bottom-line profits of £6.7m (€9.78m) this time.
