Software centre at DCU to close
The Centre for Software Engineering (CSE) at the Dublin City University is to close with the loss of 12 jobs.
According to the centre's director, Robert Cochran, the centre is closing due to "changing circumstances within the software industry".
CSE was opened in 1991 when it spun off the University's School of Computer Application to train and provide professional services to the then budding software sector.
However, the centre has since seen its Government funding withdrawn, with losses mounting in recent months.
