Twelve jobs to go as software centre closes

The centre for software engineering in Dublin City University is to close with the loss of 12 jobs.

The centre was the national focus point and support service for the software development industry in Ireland.

The Irish Computer Society is describing the news as a major setback for the IT sector.

It says many valuable projects are being cancelled as a result of the closure and it will do immeasurable damage to our international reputation.
