Vodafone has said it will pay dividends to Irish shareholders in euro and not in sterling after receiving complaints.

The payment of dividends in sterling meant that shareholders incurred bank charges on the transfer into euro of the sterling dividend.

There are approximately 400,000 Irish shareholders of Vodafone who acquired their holding on the acquisition by Vodafone of Eircell from Eircom.
