The British Aviation Authority said today that its seven UK airports handled 8.8 million passengers in January.

The British Aviation Authority said today that its seven UK airports handled 8.8 million passengers in January.

This is 10.7% more than January 2002.

The figures were helped by strong traffic over Christmas and new year and booming low cost airline operations.
