Union recommends acceptance of social partnership deal

The Public Service Executive Trade Union, which represents executive-grade civil servants, is to recommend that its members support the social partnership proposals currently under discussion at government buildings.

The PSEU, which represents more than 7,000 executives in companies like FAS, An Post and the Irish Aviation Authority, said it believes the proposals are acceptable.

The deal currently on the table allows for a 7% phased pay rise over 18 months for all workers, with a six-month delay in its implementation for public servants.

The deal also commits the Government to honouring the recommendations of the benchmarking body.
