TCH announces changes at Western People
Thomas Crosbie Holdings Ltd has announced changes to the board of the Western People newspaper based in Ballina.
Tom Murphy who was recently appointed Chief Executive at the Irish Examiner will leave the board with his place being taken by Brian Feeney.
Brian is Chief Executive at the Sligo Weekender which was successfully relaunched as a paid for title earlier this year having previously been a free sheet.
Prior to taking the helm at the Sligo Weekender he enjoyed a very successful period as editor of the Evening Echo in Cork.
Tom Murphy has resigned his directorships of TCH regional titles in order to concentrate on his new appointment as CEO and as a Director of the Irish Examiner.
Commenting on the changes, TCH Group Managing Director, Anthony Dinan said "These changes will allow Tom Murphy to focus fully on his new role of Chief Executive with the Irish Examiner while Brian's appointment to the board of the Western People will ensure that we continue to maximise the synergies that exist between that title and the Sligo Weekender.
"Both Tom and Brian have made an outstanding contribution to the development of the group's regional newspaper portfolio and I wish them every success in their new roles."
Brian Feeney said "I am really looking forward to working closely with the team at the Western People and of course Terry Reilly whose experience and knowledge of our industry is second to none.
"Given the exceptional strength of the Western People along with the great success we are enjoying with the Weekender in Sligo, the future for TCH in Connacht is very exciting indeed."
