Beckham helps Vodaphone growth

Vodafone, the world's biggest mobile phone company, said it signed up more than four million new users in the fourth quarter of 2002.

The rise takes Vodafone’s customer base to 112.5 million people.

The figures were helped by the launch of its Vodafone live! picture messaging phones advertised by England captain David Beckham – which has sold 380,000 handsets since its launch in October.
