Houses prices rose by 13.3% during 2002, according to new figures released today from the Economic Social Research Institute and Permanent TSB.

Houses prices rose by 13.3% during 2002, according to new figures released today from the Economic Social Research Institute and Permanent TSB.

The figure is three times the rate of growth in 2001, which was 4.4%. The average price paid for a house last month was €205,000.

The most expensive house sold last year was sold in Dublin, where the average price was €286,000.

The lowest price for buying a house was in Co Mayo last year, where the average price paid for a residential property was €151,000.
