Avis eyes Budget deal

Car rental chain Avis Europe today announced it was in talks to buy the rights to rival operator Budget’s name and trademark in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The discussions, understood to be at a preliminary stage, also cover the potential purchase of assets including licensee agreements and royalty streams in the three areas.
