Outside company takes over UK IBM workforce
Hundreds of jobs at IBM's UK manufacturing operations are to be transferred to another company.
The computer giant announced the move at its Greenock factory, where some 600 manufacturing workers will be affected.
There are not thought to be any compulsory redundancies as part of the global deal, which will see Samina SCI taking control of IBM's production and workforces in the UK, the US and Mexico.
California-based Samina provides equipment for the global giant.
