Prime Minister Leszek Miller said Poland's referendum on whether to join the European Union will probably take place on June 8, and not in May as earlier proposed, according to reports from PAP.

Prime Minister Leszek Miller said Poland's referendum on whether to join the European Union will probably take place on June 8, and not in May as earlier proposed, according to reports from PAP.

"Given the fact that the formal signature in Athens of the accession treaty was put off from March to April 16, the holding of a referendum in May as proposed before will no longer be possible," Miller was quoted by PAP as saying.
