EasyJet says its passenger numbers surged last month after it added routes and took over Go Fly.

November passenger numbers rose to 1.48 million from 690,000 a year earlier.

The load factor, or proportion of seats filled, fell to 80% from 85.2% in the year-ago month.

Go Fly, as an independent company, carried 382,830 passengers with a load factor of 75.6% in November 2001 and easyJet carried 690,928 passengers with a load factor of 85.2% in the same period.

EasyJet took over smaller rival Go Fly in August.
