IFA not happy with McCreevy's changes

The Irish Farmers Association has announced that it is not happy with the Government's Budget.

Walter Crowley from the association insists the changes announced today will have a negative affect on farming.

Citing examples, Mr Crowley said the VAT increase from 12.5% to 13 % would cause problems.

He also criticised the capital allowance on machinery which has increased from five years to eight years.

Finally, the IFA spokesperson noted that there was no incentive for land leasing in the Budget.
