The state said it will appeal against a US federal court ruling upholding Microsoft's controversial anti-trust deal with the US government.

Attorney General Tom Reilly said his state had filed a lone appeal against court-ordered sanctions on Microsoft, calling for tougher measures.

"This appeal is necessary to protect consumers," he said yesterday.
