Airlines should be charged for polluting the atmosphere and the money ploughed back into more environmentally friendly means of transport, a British Royal Commission said today.

Airlines should be charged for polluting the atmosphere and the money ploughed back into more environmentally friendly means of transport, a British Royal Commission said today.

The Royal Commission on environmental pollution also attacked Government plans for airport expansion, saying more resources should go towards less polluting rail services.
