Farmers began lifting blockades of food warehouses across France today after reaching an agreement on pay with supermarkets that buy their produce.

Since Wednesday, farmers had used tractors, vegetable crates and even piles of manure to block about 65 food depots, raising fears that supermarkets would run low on fresh fruits and vegetables.
