HP shares dive after Capellas leaves

Shares in Hewlett-Packard fell 10% when it was announced that Michael Capellas, second in command, was leaving the company.

Michael Capellas was CEO of Compaq, before it merged with Hewlett-Packard.

He leaves only six months after the merger of the companies - the integration of the two is not yet complete.

After yesterday’s announcement there were some questions about how capable HP’s CEO Carly Fiorina is of running the combined companies, without Capellas.

Michael Capellas is tipped to become CEO at WorldCom.
