EDS completes stage two of FLS contract

EDS Ireland has announced that it has completed stage two of an eight-year outsourcing contract with FLS Aerospace, which is valued at $3m (€3m) per year.

Under this contract 27 FLS Aerospace staff have gone to EDS Ireland and now form the core of the EDS IT team responsible for FLSA's IT requirements.

The EDS/FLS Aerospace relationship began in January 2000 when EDS won the contract to perform various support services for the aviation maintenance company.

EDS also dealt with the problem of a lack of a common office environment between the four major FLSA sites: at Copenhagen, Dublin, Manchester and Stanstead.

The COE (Common Office Environment) plan is now fully implemented.

The FLSA site at Dublin Airport is made up of six hangars with a capacity to overhaul up to 14 aircraft at any one time.
