Minister wants flat rates for Internet

Communications Minister Dermot Ahern has announced plans to introduce a flat rate for Internet access.

The policy directive, which is likely to take effect in the New Year, overrides the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation, as is the minister's right under the new Communications Act.
