Sulzer new orders down 6%

Sulzer Ltd said it reported new orders of 1.463 billion sfr for the first nine months of 2002, down 6% year-on-year, but up 1% adjusted for acquisitions, divestitures and currency effects.

Order intake by core divisions was 1.425 billion sfr, 3% below last year's level, with difficult market conditions and a negative currency effect leading to a lower result.
