Irish-Malaysian co-operation agreement signed

Investors and businessmen have signed a co-operation agreement with representatives in Malaysia to encourage Irish companies to establish more links there.

The Chamber of Commerce of Ireland signed the pact with Malaysian counterparts during President McAlesse’s state visit.

The deal was completed at a business gathering in Kuala Lumpur.

The President was the guest of honour at the meeting.

Malaysia last year was Ireland’s third largest market outside of Europe.

It’s hoped that the pact will now strengthen economic ties between both countries.
