Intel Ireland is to ask employees to take leave between December 20 and January 6, as the firm prepares for sluggish sales following Christmas.

Intel say most of the 3,200 employees who have no annual leave remaining for 2002 will be asked to take an unpaid break or dip into their holiday days for next year.
